A Brief Introduction to Sanda University

Sanda University was founded by professors from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Beijing University and Tsinghua University in 1992. Sanda became the first full-time private institution of higher education authorized by the Chinese Ministry of Education in China since the nation-wide adjustment of colleges and departments of universities in 1952. It was also the first private comprehensive university providing four-year undergraduate courses under the supervision of Shanghai Municipal Government. Sanda has two campuses, Shanghai Pudong and Jiashan, and is composed of 11 Colleges including Shengxiang College of Business Administration, College of Management, College of Foreign Languages, College of Information Science and Technology, College of Humanities, College of Public Education, College of International Medicine and Technology, Jiashan Guangbiao College, Hudong College of Engineering and College of Fashion Designing offering more than 20 undergraduate lines of studies in 8 major categories including Economics, Management, Literature, Law, Sciences, Engineering, Arts and Medicine. The university has a student enrollment of 11,130, a full-time faculty of 580 and a part-time teaching and administrative staff of 240.

The main campus of Sanda University is located on Jinhai Road, Pudong New District, Shanghai, adjacent to Zhangjiang High-Tech New Development Zone and Jinqiao Development Zone. Sanda has established more than 30 laboratories suitable for the development of science disciplines and nurturing talented students with applied knowledge and skills as well as more than 140 internship bases offering internships and hands-on practices through signed contracts and agreements with companies and organizations such as Shanghai Pudong Software Park, Tata Information Technology Company, Infosys Company-China, China News Agency- Shanghai Branch, Pudong Daily News of Shanghai Wenguang Film and TV Group, China Communication Bank–Shanghai Branch, China Construction Bank–Jinqiao Branch, Shanghai Yitao Trading Company, Shanghai Shende Accounting Firm, Shanghai Shenhe Law Firm and etc. providing a board platform for students in terms of internship practices and employment.

In addition, the University also offers 20 courses in the College of Business Administration delivered in English or bilingually. We also offer a number of courses of Chinese and Foreign cultures for the selection by foreign students.
